This post brought back some lovely memories of when I stayed with a penfriend in Yorkshire. We visited Haworth railway station and enjoyed a steam train ride. My outstanding memory of that trip was when my eldest son (age 13) tried to help me with his baby brother's carry-cot and dropped the handle, tipping baby Peter out on to the cobbles! Luckily, despite the screams, he wasn't hurt, just frightened, but it was very scary at the time. Lovely, atmospheric photos, Lucy. Thank you for sharing them.
Lovely to see these photographs this evening. I'm visiting this area in January. Thank you for sharing. X
ReplyDeleteThanks Jules. Oh, you'll have a blast! It's a beautiful area. We are lucky to live only 50 miles away so we can take mini breaks there often x

DeleteWe caught the steam train at Cheltenham, if you look under the label 'days out' on my blog you can see it, it was a just over a week ago x
Deletelooks like a great trip, I love the moors and the sound of the steam trains. x
ReplyDeleteMe too, and it was the best time of year to visit because all the heather on the moors was purple :) x
DeleteSteam trains are so atmospheric! I love Yorkshire, you are so fortunate to live close to this beautiful area x
ReplyDeleteYorkshire is definitely the best county :) We live about 6 miles from the edge of the Moors and 50 miles from the coast or the Dales x
